Events and Activities For Families
This Week for Preschoolers
Story: Jonah learns the hard way that he should go God’s way when he is swallowed by a huge fish. – Jonah 1:1-3:10
Say This: Whose way is perfect? God’s way is perfect.
Remember This: “God’s way is perfect.” – 2 Samuel 22:31, NIrV
Do This At Drive Time: As you drive or take a walk, tell your child which way you need to go in order to get where you’re going. Ask your child what would happen if you went the wrong way. (You would not get where you need to go.) Talk about how God’s way is perfect. That means God’s way is never ever wrong. God’s way will always be the best way and will get us where God wants us to go.
This Week for Elementary Kids
Story: The Wise and Foolish Builders – Matthew 7:24-29
Say This: Practice praying to God.
Remember This: “Training the body has some value. But being godly has value in every way. It promises help for the life you are now living and the life to come.” – 1 Timothy 4:8, NIrV
Do This At Morning Time: Talking about the things we love can be easy but it can take practice. While you’re communiting, practice talking about God. Tell each other stories you’ve read or heard about Him, talk about the questions you would ask, or talk about the things you are grateful for about Him. Whatever it may be, start talking.
