Events and Activities For Families
This Sunday is Palm Sunday and we want to invite EVERYONE to participate in a special way. Watch this 1-minute video to see what we’re crafting this Sunday.
Then…
If you’re tuning in from home: make sure to have paper (green if you have it), a pencil, scissors, glue and popsicle sticks ready to make your own hand-print-palm-branch to use during the service.
If you’re joining us in-person: we’ll have all of the supplies you need ready at your seat
Parents! Please take pictures or videos of the crafting process AND during our last two songs. – send your pictures to the church office so we can post them in an upcoming service.
Prayer Partners for All Ages
During Lent we encourage everyone to find a Prayer Partner – and that means kids too! A prayer partner is someone your child can connect with and pray for each week. It may be as simple as sharing prayer requests and going through a reading plan and then sharing thoughts or insights over Zoom, Facebook, the phone, or even through weekly letters. If you are having trouble finding a prayer partner for yourself or your child please contact the church office. There are lots of great devotionals on the Bible App (or you can follow our Lent devotional – outlined above).
Once you’ve connected your child with a prayer partner you can keep things simple by having them fill out THIS CARD each week.
This Week for Preschoolers
Story: The crowd shouts “Hosanna” and spreads coats and palm branches on the road when they see Jesus. – Matthew 21:1-16
Say This: Who can love like Jesus? I can love like Jesus.
Remember This: “Love each other as I have loved you.” – John 15:12, NIV
Do This At Bath Time: Add a toy person to bath time along with some extra wash cloths. Show your child how to spread the wash clothes along the edge of the tub and walk the toy person on top of the wash clothes. Talk about how Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem. The people were so excited they spread coats and leaves on the road for Jesus to ride over, and they shouted, “Hosanna! Hosanna! Yay Jesus!”
This Week for Elementary Kids
Story: Palm Sunday – Matthew 21:1-11
Say This: You can celebrate even when you’re waiting.
Remember This: “Wait for the Lord. Be strong and don’t lose hope. Wait for the Lord.” – Psalm 27:14, NIrV
Do This At Bed Time: Waiting can be tough but trying to skip the wait can come at a big cost. Share something that you’re having a hard time waiting for. Pray that when you’re tempted to jump ahead this week, God will give you the patience to slow down and wait.
