Events and Activities For Families

Virtual Pancake Family Night: Tuesday, February 16th at 5:30 PM

We’re starting the season of Lent off by using up all of the butter, sugar and flour… to make pancakes of course!
If you had fun building gingerbread houses with us on Zoom in November then you won’t want to miss our Virtual Pancake Night in February. Sign Up here and you will receive a pancake-themed package for your family use and enjoy. Can’t wait to see you there : )

Lent Devotional & Activities

We enjoyed using the family resources and readings through Advent last year so we decided to do it again for Lent and Easter. You can order Asheritah Ciuciu’s Lent devotional through amazon here (https://buff.ly/2LSpOjE) or through other book and audio retailers. Stay tuned for little extras and activities all through Lent (starting Wednesday. February 17th)

Prayer Partners for All Ages

During Lent we encourage everyone to find a Prayer Partner – and that means kids too! A prayer partner is someone your child can connect with and pray for each week.  It may be as simple as sharing prayer requests and going through a reading plan and then sharing thoughts or insights over Zoom, Facebook, the phone, or even through weekly letters. If you are having trouble finding a prayer partner for yourself or your child please contact the church office. There are lots of great devotionals on the Bible App (or you can follow our Lent devotional – outlined above).

Once you’ve connected your child with a prayer partner you can keep things simple by having them fill out THIS CARD each week.

This Week for Preschoolers

Story: Jesus tells His friends, the disciples, to let the children come to Him. – Luke 18:15-16
Say This: Who loves you? Jesus loves me.
Remember This: “A friend loves at all times.” – Proverbs 17:17 NIrV
Do This At Morning Time: When you go into your child’s room, say, “Good morning! Is there anyone in here that Jesus loves? (Look around like you don’t see your child.) Anyone? (Look at your child.) Oh! Yes! YOU! Jesus loves YOU!”

This Week for Elementary Kids

Story: God Was Kind to Us – Ephesians 4:32
Say This: Be kind to others because God is kind to you.
Remember This: “You are God’s chosen people. You are holy and dearly loved. So put on tender mercy and kindness as if they were your clothes. Don’t be proud. Be gentle and patient.” – Colossians 3:12 NIrV
Do This At Morning Time: Put a special treat (that is prewrapped) with your child’s breakfast. Tell them to take this with them to school as a reminder to do something extra sweet for someone else. They could even give that special treat to a friend. Tell them to not eat it until the job is done! Remind them to be kind to others because God is kind to them.
