Lent and Easter 2021
Easter Sunday Service
Join us for Easter Service and invite your friends, family, and neighbours for our online Easter Service. You can watch the service here.Â
There will be social media content available for you to share as we approach Easter Weekend to help you invite others.
Good Friday at Home Experience
This Good Friday we are not holding a service at the church. Instead we have prepared resources for you to participate at home as you consider Jesus' sacrifice that gives us New Life. There is a printed guide you can download here as well as a video on our YouTube Channel to help start you off. You can download the guide anytime, the video will be available in the afternoon on Thursday April 1st. There are several options to choose from for your at home experience that are applicable for any age. We hope this will make Good Friday memorable and meaningful for your household.
Next Steps Q&A on Zoom
Do you want to know more about following Jesus or Country Hills Church? Meet us on Zoom Tuesday April 6th at 7pm. This is an open time to ask questions about faith and church with Pastor Jeremy Shuart. You can join the Zoom meeting here.
Easter Blessing Project
This Easter we will be delivering 110 spring potted flowers along cards with words of encouragement from ours kids for the seniors at Lanark Seniors Home. Cards will be delivered during the week of Lent, where your kids can colour and write a note of encouragement. Cards can be dropped off in the church mailbox or on a Sunday morning. The spring potted flowers can be dropped off at the church on Sunday March 21st or Sunday March 28th, during the morning service, or Tuesday March 23 and Thursday March 25 between 9:00 - 12:00.

Lent - A Season of Renewal, Easter - A Celebration of Victory
Lent is a time in the Christian calendar year during the 40 days (not including Sundays) leading up to Easter where people fast and prepare their hearts to celebrate Easter. It tends not to be practiced in many Evangelical churches anymore, but I actually think it’s a good practice of preparation. So I encourage you to take some extra time, beginning on February 17th to focus on Jesus and prepare your heart…
"Lent is a season of somberness, a time in which we come face-to-face with our frailty as humans, our sinfulness apart from Christ, and our mortality in this body of death. We grieve the brokenness in this world, and we cry out against the injustices we see around us. We mourn and lament sickness and death and cry out for forgiveness and deliverance from the sins that plague our own souls. Quite frankly, Lent is not a fun season. It’s heavy. But it’s beautiful too, precisely in its permission to recognize that the Christian life is not all smiles and sunshine. In this world, we will have trouble, Jesus promises, and the season of Lent permits us to be honest about those troubles, even as we press on toward Easter Sunday with the hope that Jesus has overcome the world." Ciuciu, Asheritah. Uncovering the Love of Jesus
Here are a few ideas and resources to help you.

Days of Prayer and Fasting
Prayer Resources
We are encouraging everyone who is able to participate in a 3 day (or portion of those days) church wide food from February 17 - 19.
Our Days of Prayer and Fasting will take place during the season of Lent, beginning on February 17th and end Easter Sunday. During this time we encourage you to give something up and to take time to focus on Jesus. Consider using one of the devotionals or reading plans above, participating in the Blessing Project, and finding a prayer partner for this time.
You can use the guides below to help you during this time. During the first 4 weeks we will be praying through a different theme as a church family in addition to your personal prayer items.
Prayer Partners
During Lent we encourage everyone to find a Prayer Partner. This is someone you could contact about weekly for prayer and encouragement. Kids and teens can do this too. This may be a simple as sharing prayer requests and going through a reading plan separately and connecting minimally, or as involved as a weekly connection (call, email, text, distanced visit). If you are having trouble finding a prayer partner please contact the church office. You can find some more ideas in the following resources on starting a discipling huddle (which is an expanded form of prayer partners)
