In His Hands

The other day I decided to watch “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” again. If you’re not into those types of movies you might be judging me, but there’s a scene at the beginning that caught my attention. Gandalf the wizard arrives in Hobbiton and Frodo the Hobbit meets him on the road coming into town. Frodo suggests that Gandalf is late to which Gandalf replies “A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.” And they both have a good laugh.  God has used a couple experiences to remind me that He has my life and our world in His hands.

Earlier that day while I was biking I hit a stretch of road alongside some trees. At that moment the wind picked up and several leaves came cascading down around me as I rode.

Watching the leaves fall and hearing that line reminded me that God is in control, and God is good. It was a gentle reminder that whatever I am going through, God is with me. And God is with you.

So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 (NLT)

And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Matt 28:20b
